I came across an article about a teen committing suicide because of drama on myspace.

How do you describe “The neighbors across the street”? What they did was childish, ignorant, immature. For two grown adults to deliberately deceive a depressed 13 year old girl with various emotional hangups for the sole purpose of saving their own daughters social life is absolutely disgusting.

Then I ran across the follow up article about how the parents want a law to protect the children. The first thing that popped into my mind is the Internet is serious business meme from a few years back.

Serious Business

Think about it for a sec. Why would anyone care what someone says on the internet. Sure you build a relationship online and there is an element of trust involved here but when you get down to the core of the issue, the child was conversing with someone she never met. There would be no consequence to adding the user to her ignore list and moving on with her life. People will say bad things on the internet but those are not sticks and stones. Maybe the mother should have taught the kid not to take the internet seriously. As a parent I am responsible for teaching my kid that not every one is going to be on the up and up on the internet and that taking it to seriously will cause many unnecessary headaches. As hard as it may be for Meier family to accept, ultimately the responsibility for keeping children safe falls upon the parents. No law could have prevented this from happening.

Call me a conspiracy nut if you want but I find the testimony of neighbors a lot more credible than that of most government agencies. I find it even more fascinating that more and more professionals are coming out of the wood work that state the obvious. On the topic of unidentified flying objects it’s simple. People say they saw them and the government says no you didn’t. That’s why I took notice when I came across an article saying an international panel made up of two dozen pilots and government officials are demanding the government open up a new investigation into the cylindrical orbs, round discs, glowing spheres and other odd objects seen by many that remain unexplained.

There is no name given to the group in the article but from the description I am assuming this is the Disclosure Project. Here’s a google video of their testimony. Remember, these are professional pilots both in military and civilian service as well as government officials. These are not red necks that saw swamp gas.

So the question is raised now. Who are you going to believe? Your own lying eyes or the government. Remember that the government is no stranger to lying either.

I knew this was going to happen. It seems they are surprised that this speeding law doesn’t target racers, it targets everyone. But we all know you can speed in any car and every one is always in a rush.

Here’s a solution. You want safer roads? Then drivers need better training. Anything less then that is an insincere effort. A law is not going to prevent someone from speeding, but training will save lives.

Lets take for example motorcycles. Everyone knows these crotch rockets are dangerous. But people are still allowed to ride them? Why? Because when you ride a motorcycle you know full well the dangers of it. And even though you can hop on any bike with an M1 every other motorcyclist will tell you to take the training. You don’t rely on stupid laws to keep you safe. You rely on your training. It’s no different in a car. 4 tires and a cage don’t make you safe. Good driving makes you safe. When people will start looking to themselves to be better drivers then they will realize that it’s the drivers that make safer roads, not the laws.

Chrysler is cutting up to 12,000 jobs and a lot of those jobs will be coming from the manufacturing plant in Brampton, Ontario. This plant is just up the road from me and I have some friends who work there. This will hit the local economy pretty hard I think because those friends of mine all got mortgages within the past few years and have started families. Hopefully they can bounce back.
