Parliment is having a vote on the Afghanistan mission. This is our chance guys. I’ve emailed my MP asking her not to vote for this mission extension. You should to. Let us make it known that the Canadian government works for the People and that the Canadian people want to bring the troops home. Contact information for your MP can be found here.

Hello Malhi Gurbax Singh. I’m a constituent of yours in Bramalea and I am writing you today about the Canadian Mission in Afghanistan. I don’t know how Canadians found them selves in this situation but it is obvious to me that we need to remove our presence from Afghanistan

Originally we went in there with the goal of bringing an international terrorist to justice. We were there as allies of the USA. Then they took their eyes off the prize and went after Saddam. Guess who got stuck holding the bag. This is a problem the USA has to deal with. Not the Canadians. If the USA can’t be bothered to put the time and effort in Afghanistan then neither should we.
Further more, after all the controversy regarding 9/11 surrounding the legitimacy of the investigation, this also raises serious issues on weather or not we should be there in the first place. So as I see it, the Canadians are in Afghanistan for no reason. If USA can’t be bothered to put a sizable presence in there because they are off on some illegal war in Iraq (mind you the Afgan mission is no less illegal) and the truth for 9/11 is being quashed at all levels of the United States Federal government, then there is no real reason to be there. Let me spell it out. There is no Canadian interest in Afghanistan. We have nothing to gain by being there and every thing to lose.

I thought I was watching Noam Chomsky say something important. What I’m watching (listening while I work) turns out to be just as enlightening. Let me get right down to it. Noam Chomsky introduces Robert Fisk. Who is Robert Fisk and why is he so important as to be introduced my Noam Chomsky? Well Robert Fisk is an independent reporter and he underlines one of the main problems with news today.

For the uninitiated, todays news has taken a strange form. No longer do we see reporters going out to find the truth. Instead we see them in hotels calling up various agencies and parroting press releases(incidental to this is that every major industry is affected by this from auto to video games).
